Dorothy Iona (Mouser) Carmichael entered this life on September 22, 1922 in the small farming community of Valley View, Texas (near Wichita Falls). Her parents were Fred Worth Mouser and Cleva (Allen) Mouser. At a young age she moved, with her parents, to California.

She grew up in Bakersfield and several outlying communities. She left this life June 8, 2018 in Emmett, ID, at the age of 95. After graduating from high school she went back to Texas to visit an aunt.

It was during this visit that she met Willard Carmichael, a younger brother of her aunt’s husband. They were married in June 1941. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharon Sue Wilson (Robert) of Emmett, ID; by her grandchildren, Gary Wilson (Bonnie) of Star, ID and Mike Wilson (Michael) of Snohomish, WA; by her great grandchildren, Troy (Cassie) of Boston, MA, Tyler {Charity), Brooke and Paige of Star, ID, Devon, Reese and Terran of Snohomish, WA.

Her first great great grandchild is due in November. During WWII Dorothy and Sharon followed Willard from Navy Base to Navy Base until he was assigned to the USS Cumberland Sound, AV-17. bound for the South Pacific, where he remained until the end of the war.

Dorothy and Willard both had a strong Christian faith and supported HIS work both physically and financially. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, and her only sibling, Freddie Lee Mouser. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Sunset Cemetery in Moab, Utah, along side her husband.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 13th at 11:00 a.m. Under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett.
