Obituary for Dorothy L. Donivan Overcash (Crawford) Dorothy “Dot” Donivan Overcash, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, August 3rd, 2018. She was born Saturday, February 11th, 1928 in Breezewood, a daughters of the late Harold O. Crawford and LaVerne (Winck) Crawford. On August 21st, 1949 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, she married Sgt.

Delmer D. Donivan who passed away on December 18th, 1984. She is survived by their son Delmer D. Donivan, II and wife Melody (Flagle) Donivan of Breezewood, Two daughters, Darlene “Peaches” (Donivan) Grance and husband Jerry Grance of Crystal Spring, and Delmalee (Donivan) Webb and husband Charles W. Webb of Corpus Christi, Texas, Nine grandchildren, Delmer D. Donivan, III, Jerrica A. Grance, Desirae N. (Donivan) Hess, Danielle M. Donivan, Timothy S. Grubb, LaTisha D. Grubb, Weldon W. Webb, Christina D. (Hill) Schuerr, John S. Webb, Fourteen great-grandchildren, Sierra, Dakota and Mesa Webb, Steven and Amanda Webb, Mikayla and Kaitlyn Webb, Morgan Ray, Jameson and Sidney Schuerr, Myia A. Barthalow, Carson and Harper Hess, Reagan Mowry, A sister Donna (Crawford) Henry and husband Raymond Henry of Rockwood, Two brothers, Dale Crawford of Everett and Gary Crawford of Mechanicsburg, Two sisters-in law, Delores (Overcash) Deardorff and husband Glenn Deardorff of Fayetteville and Eleanor (Donivan) Orr of Shippensburg, A brother-in-law, Paul Cordell of Hagerstown, Maryland, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by her stepmother Mary M. (Morris) Crawford, a granddaughter Rebecca Anne (Hill) Farmer, a daughter Deborah Diann Hill and her husband Robert Hill, a sister Betty Lou Crawford, a brother Harold Ray Crawford, two sisters-in-law Bonnie (Felton) Crawford and Audrey (Hinson) Crawford, and her second husband, Arnold Overcash, who she married in Texas on June 6th, 2000.

Throughout her lifetime, Dorothy was a dedicated wife and mother who helped her husband and son with the operations of their businesses, having been the previous owners and operators of the former Indian Acres Golf Course in Everett. She touched the lives of many people, both near and far, and was unique in her own way. She loved to travel to both Florida and Texas, and spent much of her time as a volunteer for her community, specifically as a volunteer with the Salvation Army.

A master gardener who was a member of the American Iris Society, Dorothy loved all flowers, though she had some favorites, like roses, irises and daylilies. Her collections of flowers that she kept at her home and also planted at the homes of her children were, and still are, beautiful to this day. Dot also loved her pet dogs that she bred and raised, especially her Pomeranians, Ruby, Candy and the late Peanut, who was her companion for over 23 years,and her Yorkies, Belle, Cassie and Coda.

She was a lifetime member of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW in Chambersburg, a member of the American Legion Post 46 Ladies Auxiliary Chambersburg since 2004, the AmVets Post 224 Auxiliary, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 600 and a member of the Women of The Moose. To honor Dorothy’s overwhelming love of flowers, please send as many flowers as you would like as an expression of sympathy. Be it bought or cut from you own flower garden, all flowers will be greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Breezewood Lighthouse Assembly of God with Pastor Jonathan Wyns and Rev. Delmas Bard officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, at the church on Thursday from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.
