Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy Mae Greene Ballard was born Sept. 3, 1920 in Williamstown, Kentucky and passed away February 13, 2019 at her residence in Spartanburg, South Carolina at the age of 98. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Melville Lee Greene.

Dorothy retired as a teacher from Williamstown High School in 1972 and had previously taught at Mason High School. She was a very active member of Williamstown Baptist Church until she moved to South Carolina. She was the former director of the Church Choir and teacher of the Vigilant Sunday School Class.

In addition to being very active in church, Dorothy was also very involved in the community. She was a member of the Williamstown Homemakers Club, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the Grant County Retired Teachers. Dorothy is survived by her daughter: Diana B. Parnes and her husband Neil of Spartanburg, SC and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Braudus Lee Ballard on April 22, 1984. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Entombment will be in the Williamstown Cemetery Mausoleum.
