Norma’s Obituary Norma Jean Bryant Salyers, a Walton resident, passed away at her home, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the age of 84. She was the wife of the late George “Bud” Salyers. On December 24, 1934, Norma was born to the late Milton and Lillian Jones Bryant in McCreary Co., KY.

On February 17, 1951, Norma married the love of her life, George “Bud” Salyers. After 67 years of faithful marriage, Norma’s heart was broken on November 8, 2017 when Bud passed away. Norma was a homemaker and loved gardening, canning and cooking.

She was well known for her big Sunday dinners that she would cook for family and friends. She was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God in Verona, KY. Norma is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Gene) Hughes of Walton, KY, one granddaughter, Mikala Hughes of Walton, KY, stepgranddaughter, Michelle (Brian) Dalton of Somerset, KY, her nephews Phillip (Michi) Couch of Arlington, TX, Gregory (Geri) Bryant, Dennis (Christina) Bryant and Daniel Bryant of Cincinnati, OH.

Graveside services will be Saturday, February 2, 2018 at 2pm at the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY. Bro. Claude Ely will be officiating services.
