Obituary for Dorothy Mae Ott (McClain) Print Mrs.Dorothy Mae Ott, age 89 of Mineola, passed away on Sunday, January 27th, 2019 in Tyler. She was born on July 4, 1929 in Rosebud, TX to the late Carl McClain and Nora McClain. After growing up on blackland farms in the temple area, Dorothy moved with her new husband Bob to the dusty high plains area where they farmed and raised a family near Springlake, Sunnyside and Dimmitt.

In 1978 they sold the farm and “retired” to east texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church – Mineola. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ott; three siblings; parents, Nora and CW McClain and one great grandchild, Isabella.

She is survived by son, Don M. Ott and his wife Sherry of Granbury; daughter, Peggy Gooch and her husband, Stephen of Dallas; siblings, Martha Cook of Temple, Eugene McClain of Benbrook, Irene Thornton of Waco, Gladys White of Temple, Velma Jackson of Haltom City; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at First Baptist Church – Mineola 204 N. Johnson St. Mineola, Texas 75773 at 1:30 pm, Dr. Mark Neeley conducting. Interment will be 2:00 Friday, February 8, 2019 in Springlake Cemetery in Springlake, Texas.
