Obituary for Dorothy P. Shank Dorothy P. Shank, 90, died on April 10, 2018, at the Race Street House in Richland. She was a member of the Swatara Mennonite Church. Born in Waynesboro, VA on September 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Edna Shank Showalter.

She married Walter R. Newswanger on January 1, 1972. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1977. She is survived by four Newswanger stepchildren: Lois wife of Frank Reed of Manheim, Galen husband of Phyllis (Musselman), Timothy husband of Susie (Keener), both of Danville, and James husband of Ruth Ann (Ker) of Flora, IN; 28 Newswanger step-grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren.

She married Aaron M. Shank on November 3, 1996. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2003. She is survived by four Shank step-children: Milford of Myerstown, Richard of Lebanon Co., Ruth Burkholder of Harrisburg, and Louise wife of Ira L. Mast of Myerstown; 12 Shank step-grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother Ralph husband of Joyce Showalter, sister-in-law Ann Showalter and a brother-in-law Dr. Paul Herr. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers Winfred, Milton and Leonard Showalter and three sisters Marjorie Shank, Lois Herr and Shirley Minnich. There will be a viewing on Sunday, April 15, 2018, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Swatara Mennonite Church, 10 Camp Swatara Road, Myerstown.

The service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the family.
