Poland – Dorothy Marie Prejsnar, 73 of Poland, died Sunday evening May 12, 2019 at Austintown Health Care Center. Dorothy was born November 30, 1945 in New Castle, PA, a daughter of Albert and Matilda (Pilch) Ostrowski. She was a graduate of New Castle High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University.

She went on to complete her Master’s of Education from West Minster College. She taught at Mohawk Elementary School and later was a substitute teacher in Poland, Struthers, Springfield , Boardman and other local school districts. She later worked at the Giant Eagle in Poland.

She leaves her son, Mark Prejsnar of Bristow, VA; and a brother-in-law, Richard Dubraski of New Castle; . Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Barbara Dubraski. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday May 17 at Holy Family Church in Poland, with Monsignor William Connell officiating.

Friends may call from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Interment will be at Madonna Cemetery in New Castle, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions take the form of donations to Angels for Animals.
