Obituary for Douglas Ray Lewis Douglas Ray Lewis, 83, of 373 Dairy Lane, Sutherlin, VA, died on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, after a decline in health for the past three years. Mr. Lewis was born on March 12, 1935, in Pittsylvania County, VA, a son of the late Willie Thomas Lewis and the late Emma Giles Lewis. He spent most of his life in the Sutherlin Community where he was a Custom Home Builder.

He was a member of the White Oak Worship Center. Ray loved to quail hunt when he was younger and his health permitted. He was married to Ethelleen Moore Lewis, who died on May 1, 2004.

Mr. Lewis is survived by a son, Doug Lewis, of Ringgold, VA; two daughters, Lisa L. Ingram (Doug), of Clarksville, VA, and Kathy L. Burdette (Raymond), of Sutherlin, VA; three brothers, Jimmy Lewis, of Sutherlin, VA, Terry Lewis (Dee), of Winston Salem, NC, and Barry Lewis (Linda), of Danville, VA; a sister, Joyce Chaney (Ed), of Chatham, VA; five grandchildren, Dustin Lewis, Abby Lewis, Joshua Yancey, Brittany Thornton, and Libby Bowlin; five great grandchildren; and a special friend, Linda Millner. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Reverend Roger Ewing officiating. Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday night from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and at other times will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donation be made to the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department, 3880 Tom Fork Rd. , Ringgold, VA, 24586.
