A Vigil will be held 7PM December 28th at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel in Plentywood. Duane Wilson, 81, of Raymond, Montana passed away December 11, 2018, following a two month stay in Billings Clinic, Billings, MT. Cremation has taken place.

(Holland) Wilson was born on September 5, 1937 in Plentywood, MT. He attended the Gibson School through the 8th grade.
The largest class was in 3rd grade (4 students) 12 total in the country school. He graduated in 1955 from Plentywood High School. He was proud to be a founding member of the Plentywood FFA and life member of National FFA Alumni.
Duane’s first employment, other than helping on the family farm north of Raymond, was milking cows for neighbors, Lawrence and Blanche Loupe . After graduation he worked on an oil rig located south of Outlook, MT until it was stacked out. He joined the Army Reserves June 13, 1957 at Fort Ord, California and was active till Honorably Discharged on January 31, 1963; pursuing jobs working on heavy equipment.
He was employed by: United Construction, owned by Don Blair and Don Syme (building roads and highways), Sheridan County Soil Conservation (with Ken Holst), John Ereth Construction ( building oil well roads and sites) , Gary Christensen Construction and T & S Blading (Terry Borah). He tended bar for his uncle Tony Tlustosch at Britt’s Bar, hauled grain for the NFO to Washington state and got into carpentry work while working with Daryl Olson Construction and Gilbert Marsh Construction doing building, remodeling and cement work. Last but not least, farming and ranching in Sheridan County, MT and Saskatchewan Canada.
Duane married Edith Marsh (daughter of Joseph and Florence (Jordan) Marsh) on July 6, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Church in Plentywood, MT. They have three children: Darcy (Feb 22, 1965) , Kevin ( Sep 4,1969) and Lynette ( July 26, 1977). After Duane helped his folks build a house, Joe and Ruth moved into Plentywood to slow down a bit.
Duane’s family moved to the farm in November 1977. Grandpa Joe still drove to the farm often to help Duane with farm work which included the land in Canada one mile north of US/ Canada border. Duane served on several boards: Farmers Union Elevator, Plentywood Farmers Union (Cenex Station), over 25 years with Plentywood Rural Fire Board ( holding offices of Secretary and chairman of the board), Raymond Park Board ( including chairman of the board), chairman of the 75th Anniversary Celebration for Raymond in 1989 and Sheridan County Fair Association.
He was member of Elks Lodge #2566, Honorary Knights of Columbus and a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church ( a previous usher). Duane enjoyed dancing, reading western books and playing cards with friends neighbors, and occasionally playing different games with mom to see who did dishes! !
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruth Wilson, brother-in-law Donald L. Benson, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many Marsh family members. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years Edith, Darcy (Scott) Duke of Sioux Falls, SD: Justin (Abby) and great granddaughter Madison Duke of Billings, MT. Ashlea (Trent) Semmens of Des Moines, IA; Kevin (Cindy) Wilson of Raymond, MT: R. J. Becker ( Alyssa Hart) of Raymond, MT, Danette (Kolten Sabinash) of Kensal, ND.
Keegan Wilson of Raymond, MT; Lynette (Ben) Eaton of Zahl, ND. Duane’s only sister Valerie Benson of Plentywood, MT and her family members: Debbie ( Joel) Bloms; Cory ( Jann ) Benson; Nickie (Blaine) McCutcheon and their children along with several nieces and nephews; Edith’s family: David ( Florence) Marsh; Cecelia (Marsh) LaCoste and many Marsh descendants.
