Obituary for Duane Lloyd Campbell Duane Lloyd Campbell, age 74, passed away peacefully of natural causes, on Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was born in Beloit, WI on February 24, 1944, the oldest child of Wayne and Helen (Johnson) Campbell. Duane was a life-long resident of Beloit and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1962.

Following high school, Duane worked at Fairbanks Morse Company. He was drafted into the military in 1969 and proudly served his country. He was assigned to the US Army’s Military Assistance Command, stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Duane was honorably discharged from military service in May 1975, and returned to work in Beloit as a machinist with the Black and Decker Corporation, followed by the Wisconsin Knife Works. He retired in 2009. Duane was an avid train enthusiast and boasted on having traveled, by rail, through nearly every single US state.

He also was a model train hobbyist and artist, creating his own rail landscapes and visiting model train shows in the surrounding area. He also enjoyed touring historical and military museums. Duane is survived by his brother David (Faye) Campbell of Beloit; his sister Dawn (Larry) Juhl of Janesville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Helen Campbell, and a great-niece, Patience Fisher. Funeral services for Duane will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Philip Allen officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawn Cemetery – Veterans Field of Honor, So.

Beloit, IL, with Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post #2306. Visitation of remembrance will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home. Upcoming Events Visitation , OCT 4.
