Duane Maxime Murray July 22, 1934 to July 22, 2018 Duane Maxime Murray 84, of Nevis MN passed away at his home July 22, 2018 Duane was born July 22, 1934 to Cashen Eugene and Ionia Camille Murray, he grew up in Elk River, MN . Duane graduated from Elk River High School in 1952, he attended College at Hamline Univiersity, in August 1956 Duane joined the Marine Corps. Duane married Vickie Weller in May 27, 1972, Duane has two step children Barry (Debbie) Rackner… Read More » and Deborah (Bob) Proper; and Grandson, Clint Tufts Duane worked at Cornelius Co. in Anoka, MN before he and wife Vickie moved to Park Rapids, MN in 1972.

Duane co-owned and operated Spider Construction with his brother in law, Larry Hetrick. Duane and Vickie also owned and operated Park Rapids Jewelry Store from January 1986 to 2012, when they decided to retire. Duane loved the outdoors, spending his time hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Marine Corp League, Park Rapids VFW and First Lutheran Church of Akeley. Duane is survived by his wife, Vickie and step children, Barry (Debbie) Rackner, Minneapolis, MN; Deborah (Bob) Proper, Akeley, MN; Grandson, Clint Tuft, Nevis, MN; Sister, Patricia (Larry) Hetrick, Park Rapids, MN; Niece, Laurie (Tim) Annett, St. Cloud, MN; Nephew, Mark (Dawn) Hetrick, Rosemount, MN; Niece, Linda (Matt) Hirsch, Park Rapids, MN; along with many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Cashen Eugene Murray and Ionia Camille (Burgoyne) Murray.

Memorial Service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Akeley, MN Thursday July 26th, 2018 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Duanes family suggets a donation to be made to Hospice. Duane will be laid to rest at Camp Ripley in Little Falls.
