Obituary for Duane Burger Duane E. Burger, age 91, of West Haven, beloved husband to Marie J. (Flebeau) Burger, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 14, 2018. Born in Dansville, New York on April 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Dana and Ruth (Keifer) Burger. Duane was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He enjoyed a career as a woodworker for General Wood. For many years, Duane enjoyed the times spent with his friends and family camping, fishing, hunting, and boating. In addition to his wife Marie of 71 years, Duane is survived by his sister Carolyn (Dean) McCarthy, brother Chester Burger, brother Dwight (Carrie) Burger, sister-in-law Sarah Burger, cousin Lillian (Mitch) Laska, cousin Larry (Anna) Doran, three Godsons, Steven Laska, Jeffrey Doran, Larry Doran, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister June (Ernie) Neu and brother Larry Burger. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A funeral service will commence on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Haven Veteran’s Museum, 30 Hood Terrace, West Haven, CT 06516.
