Obituary for Ryan Conroy Ryan Michael Conroy, age 33, of New Haven, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on December 9, 1984, he was the son of Joseph Conroy and the late Linda (Richo) Conroy. He was a graduate of the Perkins School for the Blind, Class of 2005.
Ryan then went on to attend classes at Gateway Community College for Psychology. Ryan fought a long and courageous battle with cancer for almost thirty two years. Despite his health issues, he was always concerned for and caring towards others.
Ryan will always be remembered for his strong will and his heart of gold. He was a die-hard New York Yankees fan, enjoyed spending time with family, video games, and music. He especially enjoyed listening to Staind and Aaron Lewis.
Although he was sight impaired, he mastered video games and computer technology by sound, even typing at eighty-seven words per minute. Ryan had an infectious smile and personality that lit up the room and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his father Joseph, Ryan is survived by his maternal grandmother Helen Grenier, brother, Joseph Conroy, sister, Megan Conroy, step-brothers, Eddie Consiglio and Jesse Consiglio, one niece, two nephews and many close, loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, September 11th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private.
