Earlene C. Shirrell, 87, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Fountainbleau Lodge. She was born September 1, 1931 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Ollie Vernon and Edith Rose Crockett Crossen. She and Cletis H. Shirrell were married December 26, 1954 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He preceded her in death October 24, 2015. She was a graduate of University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in schools at Neelyville and Cape Girardeau and also worked in retail and healthcare.

She was a member of First Church of God. Survivors include two sons, Rick Shirrell of St. Louis and Dick (Jessie) Shirrell of O’Fallon, Missouri; a daughter, Vicki Warren of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded by three brothers.

Friends may call 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with her son, Rick Shirrell officiating.
