ED “CORKY” LANNING age 89 of Willoughby passed away peacefully on July 12, 2018 with family at his side. He was born to Ralph and Ruth Lanning on July 2, 1929 in Kirtland, Ohio. He was the beloved husband of the late Gail Lanning, dear father of Jeffrey (deceased), Peggy (Gary) Wyszynski, Judy (Steve) Jaksa, John (Carole) Lanning, Nancy (Tony) Peters, and Bill Lanning.

Ed grew up in Willoughby where he raised his family. He was employed by Euclid Inc. and retired after 40 years of service. He enjoyed coaching boys baseball teams in his younger years and was a devoted Cleveland sports fan.

After retirement, he and Gail moved to North Carolina spending over 30 years where he enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He was an avid golfer playing daily and even had a number of hole in ones. As a devout Catholic, he volunteered his time to Habitat for Humanity.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake, 19951 Lakeshore Boulevard, Euclid, Ohio 44119. Memorial donations in memory of Ed can be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110-2602.
