Eddie Joe Spore, 92, Vincennes, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home. Eddie was born December 17, 1925, in Vincennes, the son of Hershel and Bertha (Payton) Spore. He worked as a lineman for AT&T from 1944 to 1982.

He enjoyed camping, and looked forward to his annual fishing trips with his friends at Barkley Lake. He was a member of the Vincennes Senior Golf Club, the Vincennes Moose, Vincennes Eagles and a Shriner. Eddie is survived by his companion of 14 years, JoAnn Thompson of Vincennes; daughter, Janis Phillips of Evansville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia “Jenny” Robinson of Vincennes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hershel Spore Jr. and Robert L. Spore; and sister, Darlene Laue. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rusty Thorne officiating at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM also at the funeral home.
