Benson: Mr. Eddie “The Big Un” Lynwood Ammons, age 65, of 5269 Benson Hardee Road died Tuesday at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Rev.

Jeff Jones will officiate. Mr. Ammons was born July 5, 1952 in Harnett County to the late William Franklin and Seney Eloise Parker Ammons. He was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver.

Mr. Ammons attended Hilltop Baptist Church. Surviving are wife, Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Ammons, children & spouses, David & Jessica Ammons of Benson, Jamie Renee Ammons of Bear Creek, and Jessica & Josh Prater of Bear Creek; sister & brother-in-law, Patricia & Tommy Smith of Dunn; brothers & sisters-in-law, Russell & Linda Ammons of Fuquay Varina, Sherwood & Renee Ammons of Willow Spring, and Shane & Marsha Ammons of Lillington; and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson immediately following the service on Friday and other times at the home of Shane & Marsha Ammons, 2502 US 401S, Lillington, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ammons family, c/o Lib Ammons, 5269 Benson Hardee Road, Benson, NC 27504.
