Edith’s Obituary BRISSON (ROCK), Edith Louise – Of Grand Blanc, MI, age 93, died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Omar Odette officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Edith was born on March 2, 1925 in Pitsfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mildred (Timothy) Rock. She was a well-known decorator in the Flint area, decorating many local major businesses such as, the Mott Offices, Warwick and Atlas Valley Country Club and numerous houses.

Starting in the 1960’s, Edith owned the Emporium, which was one of the first all women ran businesses. She was an avid bicycler and even road in her 60 & 70’s in the Delmac 5 times. Surviving are children, Darilyn Starks, Darrell Turner and Dan (Brenda) Turner; grandchildren, William (Pam) Weider, Lynette (Morgan) Maynard, David Weider, Michelle Mince and Courtney (Robert) Gordon, Darrell (Elena) Lauterbach and Jodi (Jerry) Lauterbach-McDermott; 16 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren and dear friend, Richard Warren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Vater and grandson, Michael Mince.
