Obituary for Edrie M. (Carter) Jackson INDIANAPOLIS – Edrie M. (Carter) Jackson, age 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on January 26, 1933 in Indianapolis as the daughter of James and Stella Mae (Galloway) Carter. She graduated from Warren High School in 1950 and in 1953 she married Donald W. Jackson in Indianapolis.

She worked for Hancock Memorial Hospital for over 20 years before retiring as an insurance supervisor in 1988. In addition to sewing and reading, Edrie enjoyed many artistic pursuits including oil, acrylic and water color painting. She loved her cats and spending time with her family.

Edrie is survived by her children, Gregory Jackson of Indianapolis, Kathi Woodruff of McCordsville, Randal Jackson of McCordsville, and Dona (Dickie Venables) Manship of Avon; four grandchildren, Christopher Jackson, Kayla Jackson, Maria Schwager, and Matthew Schwager; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Stella Carter; husband, Donald Jackson; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jackson. Private services will be held at a later date and burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
