He was born on May 13, 1933 in St. Paul, MN, to Henry and Katherine (Grassel) Weidell, and went to Washington High School. He joined the Army at age 17, serving from 1950 to 1953 and was a Korean War Veteran.

Ed worked 41 years as a sheet metal worker and foreman for the railroad, retiring on June 30, 1994. He enjoyed going to auctions with friends, helping people, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, making outdoor knick-knacks and crafts. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Josephine and Barbara, brothers Hank Jr. and George.

Ed is survived by his wife of 66 years Helen, sons Larry (Chris) of Redwood Falls, MN, Jerry (Brenda) of Lino Lakes, MN, Eddy Jr. (Angela) of Lindstrom, MN, daughters Kitty (Jim) Walsh of Hugo, MN, Betty (Gary) Soens of Hinckley, MN, 10 grandchildren Cliff, Laura, Jill, Lindsey, Brent, Michelle, Kenny, Kyle, Jackie, Amy, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial Gathering of family and friends 11:00am to 1:00pm Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, Cloverdale. Burial 1:30pm at Clover Cemetery with full military honors by the Hinckley Honor Guard.
