Edward L. Kaiser, 93, passed over on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Heartwood Senior Living in Appleton. He was born to Matt and Thecla (Wagner) Kaiser on November 14, 1925, in Stratford, WI, the second of eleven children. He grew up on the family farm surrounded by, and playing ball with, an extended family that he cherished.

Ed married Delphine (Tritz) on May 30, 1959, in Pittsville, WI. They made their home in Appleton for the entirety of their 59 years together. They were blessed with five children and later, their spouses – and six grandchildren who put the light in his eye.

Ed worked as a carpenter and in construction, first for Leroy Geiger and then for Oscar J. Boldt Construction. He was very proud to be a part of the Boldt organization. His last – and most treasured – job before retirement was supervising the construction of St Pius X Church in Appleton in 1988.

Ed was a faithful and devoted Catholic and a member of St Pius X Church. Over the years, he served in various capacities: trustee, parish council, Eucharistic minister and server. He also sang in the choir with Del for many years and was a member of the Serra Club and Knights of Columbus.

In retirement, he volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital, greeting and transporting patients; he also enjoyed golf (immensely) and bowling. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joe, Fr. Leonard and Paul; sisters Monica Baierl, Sr. Alice, Sr. Mae and Sr. Joanne; sisters-in-law Kate Kaiser and Agnes Kaiser; and many of Del’s brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Del, and children Mary (Craig) Clemons, Kathy (Tim) Budelier, Steve Kaiser, Gerry (Cathy) Kaiser and their sons Joe and Nick, and Peggy (Brian) Schwartz and their children Leah, Anna, Carrie and Isaac. He is further survived by his brother Mark, sisters Carol (Gary) Watson and Millie (Tony) Eilers; in-laws Dick Baierl and Joanie Kaiser and many members of the Tritz family, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at St. Pius X Church, 500 W Marquette St, Appleton with the Rev.

Adam Bradley officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM, service to follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton Ed’s family is very grateful to the staff of Heartwood and to his Ascension hospice team.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Pius X Church in Appleton. Go with God, Dad. Thanks for everything you did to give us a good life and a great start.

We love you.
