EDWARD RICHARD ZABICKI, 92, of Highfield, Butler Township, passed away Sunday morning at Chicora Medical Center. Born October 10, 1926 in Bredinville (Butler), he was the son of Adam Zabicki and Barbara Ostesiewicz Zabicki Seezox. Ed was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Army mainly in the Occupation of Japan until 1947.

Amazingly, he was accepted into the service with sight in only one eye and still qualified as a sharp-shooter. By trade, he was an autobody repair man and painter working at Car Care Autobody for many years. Ed enjoyed catch and release fishing and had a “green thumb” in which he would share his abundance of produce with family and friends.

Ed was sharp as a whip, always had a quick comeback, and will be sadly missed for his great sense of humor. Ed was a life-long member of The American Legion and a member of St. Stanislaus Polska Catholic Church in Lyndora. He is survived by his loving nephew, Phil Loverick, Sr. who cared for Ed for many years, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Stanley (Sophie) Zabicki, and his sisters Helen (Philip) Loverick, Stella (John) Wolenski, Virginia (Louis) Nagy, Lydia (John) Gordon, and Veronica Seezox (Ray) Sadowski; and three nieces and three nephews. There will be no visitation for Edward R. Zabicki who died Sunday, January 27, 2019. Private funeral service and burial will be arranged by Geibel Funeral Home.
