HULL – Edward X. McDevitt, Jr., age 80, was a longtime resident of Hull who passed away, with his family at his bedside, on April 20th, 2018, after a long illness. He was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree. During the 50’s he was a member of the United States Coast Guard, attaining the rank of Quartermaster, on the Ice Patrol in Greenland.

Later he became a patrolman in Hull, and the Harbormaster for Hull. He loved his family and he loved the ocean. Edward was the son of, Edward McDevitt, Sr. and his wife, Mary A. (Brown) McDevitt.

He leaves behind his sons, Edward McDevitt, Jr., of Hull and Edward McDevitt, III, of Hull. He also leaves behind his sisters, Judy Taylor and Christine Gilikin. Condolences may be received by email, through this site, www.
