Elaine (Engel) Draves, 95, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2018 at Heartland House in Wautoma. Elaine was born in the Town of Corning, Merrill to William and Pauline (Kleinschmidt) Engel on November 22, 1922. She attended a one room school in the Town of Corning, Merrill.

She married Elmer Voigt on September 6, 1941 in Merrill. They had three children together, Janice, Dennis and Carol. After Elmer’s untimely death, she later married Milton Tushoski in 1952.

They had two… Read More » children together, Patricia and Roger. She raised her five children and four step-children. She was a homemaker, planting a garden and canning the produce at harvest, making homemade breads, cakes and pies daily.

After Milton passed away, she met Harold Draves and after 15 years together they got married on February 14, 1985. She enjoyed dancing, polka music, playing the piano accordion and bowling. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards and dice with family and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Over the years she was involved in the Moose and Lioness clubs. Her years were filled with so much more than what is written here. She has given us a family legacy to treasure.

Elaine is survived by daughters Janice Arvidson, Adams; Carol Luedtke, Plainfield; Patricia Tushoski, Marathon and son Roger Tushoski, Everett, WA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gerald and Geraldine Voigt, Merrill. She is also survived by grandchildren Bill (Deb) Arvidson, Hawkins; Brian (Jen) Arvidson, Hartford; Joan (Mark) Hanson, Wausau; Tracy Voigt, Lake Mills; Jason Voigt, Wausau; Barbara (Dennis) Footit, Plainfield; Debbie Randolph (Jeff), Fort Atkinson; Jackie Cox, Wautoma, great-grandchildren Jacob Arvidson, Hawkins; Nick and Lindsay Arvidson, Hartford; Eric Hanson, Wausau; Nicole (Michael) Desjarlais, Rosendale; Lucas (Stephanie) Footit, Plover; Jessica (Austin) Hunn, Fort Atkinson; Becky Randolph, Beaver Dam; Joe Randolph, Fort Atkinson; Zach (Monica) Baillod, Plainfield; Julia Cox (Patrick), Park City, UT; Evan Cox, Wautoma and great-great-grandchildren Madeline & Alex Desjarlais, Rosendale; Mikayla & Marissa Footit, Plover; Ava & Maddox Hellenbrand, Fort Atkinson; Aubrella Randolph, Fort Atkinson; Mariah Engle and Elijah & Zoey Baillod, Plainfield. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents William Engel and Pauline (Engel) Burkee, step-father Henry Burkee; brother and sister-in-law Earl and Dorothea Engel; spouses Elmer Voigt, Milton Tushoski and Harold Draves ; son Dennis Voigt; daughter-in-law Pearl Voigt; son-in-law John Luedtke; grandchild Arthur J. Arvidson; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Sheldon and Dorothy Voigt; James and Arlene Voigt.

A private family burial will be at Snow Hill Cemetery, Merrill at a later date. Arrangements are by John J. Buettgen Funeral Home and Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society, Schofield. The family of Elaine wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Marquardt Hospice, Watertown, Heartland House, Wautoma, Crossroads Family Church, Wautoma and Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adams.
