Obituary for Elaine T. Stewart (Teck) Print Elaine T. (Teck) Stewart, 78, of Irwin, died suddenly Sunday January 13, 2018, at her home. She was born January 21, 1940 a daughter of the late Matthew and Mildred (Macut) Teck. She was employed as a Legal Assistant for Zimmer Kunz PLLC in the Greensburg office, working with her son, George.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin and volunteered at their Burger Bash, she was a long time proud poll worker, a member of many ladies card clubs and an avid gardener. Elaine was a life-long resident of the North Huntingdon/Irwin community, and was well known for her can-do attitude, her zest for life, and the love she showered on friends and family. She was a prolific crocheter and knitter, and shared her beautiful creations with friends and family far and wide.
She was also known for the year round colorful holiday lights adorning her home, as well as the bright pink Christmas tree displayed during the holidays, which brought smiles to those who passed by her home. Elaine is survived by her six children: George IV (Nancy), Michelle (Martin), Chris (Barb), Dan (Marty), Colleen (Jim), Lisa (Pete); seventeen grandchildren; Ben, George V (Maya), Claire, Colin (Ani), Madison (Jacob), Evan, Jesse, Jacob, Dan, Nick, Joe, Paul, Case, Cooper, Tim, Frances (Julianna), and Sydney. Also surviving are two great grandchildren Finn and Cal.
Elaine will be missed by close friends, including Romaine Truxall, Joanne Cole and Mary Lou Rodgers, as well as many others too numerous to name. Elaine is also survived by her ex-husband George III “Joe” and his wife Debbie, both of whom she forged a genuine friendship with in recent years. Friends will be received Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin.
Parting prayers will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home followed by a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (in memory of her dear neighbor) PO Box 1848 Longmont, CO 80502.
