Obituary for Eleanor T. Platte ELEANOR T. PLATTE, age 86 of Harbor Beach, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living of Holly, under hospice care. She was born on September 19, 1931 in Harbor Beach to the late John and Josephine (Kramer) Schumacher. Eleanor taught for 38 years at the Utica Public Schools.

She and Fred Platte were united in marriage on April 20, 1996. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2005. Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, where she volunteered both at the church and at school.

She enjoyed quilting, “up north”, and pontoon rides. She is survived by her brother Lee (Edna) Schumacher of Grand Blanc, step daughter Carol (Randy) Martin of Glendale, AZ, 2 step grandchildren, sister-in-law Bette Schumacher of Harbor Beach, and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her siblings: Rosemary Donovan, Louise Schumacher, Marcus Schumacher, and James (Lillian) Schumacher.

Funeral Mass for Eleanor will be Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:30 am, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish. Visitation for Eleanor will be Sunday, from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Monday will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11:30 am.
