New Springfield -Services will be held Tuesday, November 6, at New Springfield Church of God at 3649 East Garfield Road in New Springfield, OH,44443, at 12:00 pm for Eleen E. Tabor, 89, originally of New Springfield. Eleen was born June 2, 1929, in Coaldale, West Virginia, a daughter of Roy and Lillian Wilburn Bell. She married Herbert E. Tabor on October 27, 1946, and came to New Springfield in 1950.

She was a member of the New Springfield Church of God and the church’s choir and mission trips. She was also a member of the New Springfield Garden Club, the Auxiliary of the New Springfield Fire Department and the Community Club. Eleen leaves a son Herbert E. (Sharon) Tabor, Jr. of Garrettsville, two daughters Valarie D. (James) Smotrila of Leetonia and Shireen D. (William) Klim of Columbiana, seven grandchildren Kristen (Ed) Miller, Jason (Sandy) Smotrila, Jarret Smotrila, Tom (Kelsey) Klim, Katie (Gordon) Davidson, Erik (Cortney) Tabor and Ethan (Jacque) Tabor, two step grandchildren Kelly (Tom) Wogan and Donnie (Tammy) Sparks, and twenty-one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Eleen was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, who died September 28, 2004, four brothers Roy, Luther, Eugene and Franklin Bell, and two sisters Beatrice Compton and Loraine Bradley. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, prior to the service. The family requests that material tributes in Eleen’s name go to the New Springfield Church of God at 3649 East Garfield Road in New Springfield, OH, 44443.
