Elizabeth Leonette Allen Walls, EdD passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at age 76. She was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. She graduated high school from Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Arkansas and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Music degree at Arkansas State Teachers College.

She obtained her Master of Music at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in 1966. She obtained her Doctor of Education from the University of Alabama in 1989. She taught singing schools as well as private piano and voice lessons for 61 years.

She was an accomplished musician. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Renee Burgess and her parents, Leon & Edna Earle Allen. She is survived by her husband, Carl Walls; her son, Michael Burgess (Brenda); and her brother, Phillip Allen (Judy).

Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2019 at The New Gardendale Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, January 21, 2019 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Mt.
