Obituary for Ellen Kay Forrester Ellen Kay (Keithley) Forrester of Durant, OK, was surrounded by her friends and family as God released her from this life on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the age of 62. She was born on May 24, 1956 in Stratford, TX to Joyce Marie (Roberts) Keithley and Troy Leo Keithley of Durant, OK. Ellen lived her life in Durant and attended Durant ISD.

She loved working with children. People remember her as being the “Ronald McDonald Lady”. She planned wonderful birthday parties for hundreds of kids and toured around Oklahoma with Ronald visiting schools and making appearances.

She also worked for several years as an EMT. She transformed and managed the Skate Place in Durant into a fun safe venue to enjoy again. Later she was hired by the Choctaw Nation to set up and manage their first Day Care Center.

She worked there for several years before her health declined and caused her to become disabled for the remainder of her life. She enjoyed writing to pen pals before there was Face Book. She loved stationary, collecting pens and jewelry.

She delighted in her grandchildren and looked forward to their visits, school activities, and helping care for them. Ellen was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her son, Kristen Daniel Patton of Durant OK, her daughter, Jessica Marie (Forrester) Nichols, 2 granddaughters, Ryenn Kirsten Nichols & Brooklyn Elizabeth Nichols and 1 grandson, Grayson Barrett Perry, all of Calera, OK.

Sister, Christy Mullens of Durant, extended sister, Tanya Hazzard of Corinth, TX, 2 Nieces, Lori Kelly of Garland, TX, Ashley Mullens of Pottsboro, TX and extended niece, Tessa Spencer of Lewisville, TX, 1 great niece, Jillian Kelly and and 2 great nephews, Maddox Martinez and Kylan Knapp. Aunts and Uncles: Linda Andis, Faye Roberts, Jane and Sidney Lewis, and Jon and Dianne Roberts, all of Durant, OK and David and Geri Roberts of Poteau, OK along with many cousins. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at 7th & Beech Church Christ in Durant, OK.
