Obituary for Ellen L. Raab Ellen Raab, age 84, died on April 15, 2018. Ellen was born on December 12, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Ralph and Ila (Freeman) Benson. She grew up in Lansing, Marquette and Jackson, MI.

She graduated from the University of Michigan and taught Kindergarten in Willow Run and Ann Arbor, MI. She received a Masters in Library Science from the University of Michigan and worked as a school librarian, and later at the University of Michigan Law Library for 14 years. On June 30, 1956 she married Richard E. Raab, who survives.

She is also survived by her daughter, Barbara and son-in-law Jeffrey Protentis and son Thomas Raab and daughter-in-law Lisa; grandchildren Rachel and Justin Protentis and step-great-grandchildren Katelyn, Colton and Hunter Bell. Ellen is also survived by her brother-in-law Gary Raab, niece Kerri Ferrari and her husband Rob, nephew Mark Raab and his wife Jennifer, and great-nieces Alexis Ferrari and Sydney Raab and great-nephews, Robbie and Anthony Ferrari and Jeremy Raab. Ellen dearly loved her family, friends and reading.
