Ellsworth “Dean” Milway, 92 of Rockford, IL passed away September 19, 2018 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. Dean was born in Rochester, NY on September 19, 1926, son of E.J. and Pauline (Dean) Milway. He married Jean L. (Leberman) Milway on September 3, 1949 in Meadville, PA.

He and his wife, Jean split their time between living in Rockford and Port St. Lucie, FL over the past 20 years. Dean belonged to the Elks Club in Port St. Lucie. The two of them enjoyed listening to live music performances together, especially jazz.

Dean will be dearly missed. Surviving relatives include his wife, Jean; daughter, Carolyn (Ron) Niederer of Byron; sons, Jeff (Florence) Milway of Alpharetta, GA and Doug (Sharon) Milway of Oconomowoc, WI; grandchildren, Rachel (Patrick) Schmadeke, Erin (Tom) Secord, Heather (Curtis) Valone, Logan Milway, Katie (Daniel) Fullerton and Jackson (Sarah) Milway; great-grandchildren, Claire, Ben, Wyatt, Ada and Matthew. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108.

Gathering of family and friends will take place from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home, 1658 S State Route 2, Oregon, IL 61061. Arrangements entrusted to Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
