Elsie Mae Harrison Weed-Lorick peacefully went to her heavenly home on January 23, 2019. She was born on January 24, 1926 in Camden County, NC. She was the daughter of Dennis Bray and Nellie Kight Harrison.

She was number 11 of 14 children and is survived by her sister, Blanche Leary, and sister-in-law, Carolyn McCartha. She married Henry O’Merle Weed, Sr. and moved to Irmo, SC. They were blessed with four children, daughter, Gwen Floyd Draffin (James), sons, Henry O’Merle Weed, Jr. (Peggy), and Richard Weed.

She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Evelyn Metz. She had five grandchildren, Tad Floyd, Kristen Herndon (Mark), Katherine Floyd, Hank Weed (Jen), and Eric Weed (Megan). She also had 5 great-grandchildren.

Following the death of her husband O’Merle, she married Hughie Thomas Lorick, Sr She is survived by his children, Dr. Hugh Lorick, Jr., Rose Bass (Paul), and Neville Lorick (Janice), 3 grandchildren, Heather DeYoung (Phil), Luke Lorick (Meredith), and Kori Lorick, and 2 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Elsie retired from Mepco Electric.

She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Irmo. Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church; 1541 Lake Murray Blvd, Columbia, SC 29212 with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Preschool; P.O. Box 7, Irmo, SC 29063.
