OBITUARY Elsie June McGuire June 5, 1935 – September 20, 2018 Services will be conducted for Elsie “June” McGuire, age 83, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, September 24, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

June was born June 5, 1935, in Edmonton Alberta, Canada to Ned and Lillie Kirton. She moved to the USA in 1962, and became an American Citizen on February 9, 1970 along with her children. She loved shopping, plants, gambling, visiting with neighbors, bird watching, knitting, crocheting, bowling, working in her yard, garage sales, and just talking and swapping stories.

June is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Richard L. McGuire; parents, Ned and Lillie Kirton; uncles, Norman and Bob Armstrong; and aunt, Elsie Armstrong.

She is survived by her son, Allan McGuire and wife Cindy; daughter, Sandy Nagle and husband Reggie; grandsons, Logan McGuire, Kristopher Schaffer; two precious great-granddaughters, Riley and Kinley; her brother, Tom Kirton and wife Pat who live in Grande Prairie, Canada; and many friends and neighbors. The last two months were spent with her daughter, Sandy, and son-in-law, Reggie in Waskom, TX, with visits from her son, Allan, from Colorado. She died peacefully on September 20, 2018, surrounded by her family.

A special thank you to Ellis Sams for helping out for many years, and all the great friends in Merrywoods and surrounding neighborhoods. Also, a special thank you to Texas Home Health for In-House Hospice. She always looked forward to nurse Jerry’s visit.

Pallbearers will be John Zavalydriga, Brad Nelson, Ellis Sams, Carl Denny, Jeremy Schomburg, and Reggie Nagle. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
