Elsie Marie Fischer, 84, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2019. Born in Louisville, she was a graduate of St. Columba Grade School and the old Loretto High School. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, George Joseph and Mary Margaret Hallahan Fischer; brothers, Robert J. and Charles B. Fischer, their spouses, Dottie and Denise and brothers-in-law, Henri Mangeot and William Cuni.

Surviving her are brother, George Edward Fischer and his wife, Mary Lee; sisters, Doris Walsh and her husband Tony, Peggy Mangeot, Rosemary Cuni of Kansas City and Nancy Furlong and her husband, Jack of Lexington. She is also survived by 31 nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Nazareth Clifton for their compassionate care during her stay and Leslie Rose, her faithful friend of many years from Helping Hands.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1406 E. Washington Street with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 12 p.m. at the church. Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, “in St. Matthews” was entrusted with arrangements.
