Elvin’s Obituary Elvin Lewis Jantzen, 94, passed away February 17, 2019, in Oklahoma City. He was born August 30, 1924, in Okeene, OK to Lewis and Alice Jantzen. He married Doris Lee on October 21, 1945, and they lived together in Okeene for six years.

They moved to Oklahoma City in 1951, where they stayed for another 27 years. For 25 of those, he was a truck driver for Fleming Foods. They retired to Lake Eufaula where they resided for nineteen years.

During that period, he came out of retirement to work at DP Manufacturing, Eufaula, OK before retiring a second time and moving to Yukon, OK in 1996 to be closer to their family. After his beloved wife passed away in 2003, he moved into Nina Willingham Senior Housing where he made many friends and resided until his death. He loved fishing, gardening, and woodworking and in later years, working Sudoku puzzles.

He was an avid OU fan and loved classic country music. He especially enjoyed Friday lunches with his kids and spending time with his family which included 7 grandkids, 16 great-grandkids and this past year his great-great-grandson. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jantzen; dad, Lewis Jantzen, who died shortly before he was born; mom, Alice Koehn Jantzen Dehn; step-dad, Jacob Dehn; sisters, Helen Schmidt, Velma Hodge, and Marlene (Janie) Paden and two infant brothers. He is survived by daughter, Karen Vela, Yukon, OK; son, Jim and wife Dianne Jantzen, Yukon, OK; daughter, Debbie and husband Len Scantling, Yukon, OK; grandchildren: Michelle White, Julie Watson and husband Steve, Angela Jones and husband Chris, Becky Hawk and husband Scott Bell, Kimberly Wingert and husband Travis, Jennifer White, Kevin Scantling and wife Lora; great-grandkids: Kendall Watson, Cody Watson, Sydney Watson, Alex Solorzano, Ricky Hong, Kaylee Hong, MacKenzie Ward, Payton Bell, Jantzen Hawk, Connor Wingert, Cason Wingert, Bryonna Jones, Kantrell Deaion Webb, Kaiya Webb, Kennedy Scantling, Camdyn Scantling, and great-great-grandson, Dvonte Jones along with numerous other family members & friends. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave.

, Yukon, OK, with interment following at Yukon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
