Hilda’s Obituary Hilda Anne Kayser, 96, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2019. Hilda was born on February 7, 1922, in Buhler, KS, the fifth of eight children born to Cornelius L. and Anna Janzen. The close-knit family farmed, moving to various communities in Oklahoma, eventually settling in western Oklahoma.

Hilda graduated from Corn High School in 1940. In 1943, she entered Nurses Training at Oklahoma Charity Hospital (later Oklahoma General) in Clinton, graduating with an R.N. degree in 1946. During her training, while shopping for socks for one of her patients, she met a handsome and charming clerk named Carl Kayser.

They fell in love and married December 30, 1945, and in 1947 welcomed their son, Marshall Bryan, making the family complete. Carl’s employment with Swift & Co. moved the family to Gainesville, GA, Jackson, MS, Sedalia, MO, and Muskogee, OK. Wherever they lived, Hilda worked as a nurse, whether in hospitals or private practice, she was ministering to the needs of her patients.

Her selfless & servant spirit defined who she was in every area of her life. In 1969, Carl opened a private accounting office and Hilda retired from nursing to support the business and the couple traveled as often as they could, taking many extensive trips with her large extended family. Carl died suddenly in 1983, and in 1989, Hilda moved to Bartlesville, OK, to be near her son’s family, supporting her grandsons’ activities and investing richly in their lives.

She became a member of Bartlesville First Baptist Church, growing in the Lord and was known as an encourager to all who knew her. Hilda’s was a life well-lived. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; brothers: Allen Janzen, Marvin Janzen, and Gus Janzen and sisters: Hulda Nickel and LaVerne Brooks. She is survived by her son, Marshall (Kim) of Bartlesville, OK; two grandsons: John of Bartlesville, OK and Bryan (Keli) of Prosper, TX, and 4 great-grandchildren: Evie Kayser, Grant Kayser, James Kayser & Norah Kayser; sister, Ruth Jones of Yukon, OK; brother, Fred Janzen of Owasso, OK; brother-in-law, Bill Brooks of Albuquerque, NM, sisters-in-law, Vera Janzen of Weatherford, OK, and Amie Janzen of Okeene, OK, as well as many cherished nieces & nephews. Private family burial services were held at the Clinton Cemetery and a family memorial service will be planned in the coming weeks.

The family wishes to thank her remarkable caregivers at Spanish Cove Retirement Village, Yukon, OK, and Mercy Hospice for their exceptional, loving, and compassionate care of Hilda.
