Phil’s Obituary Phil Leon Myers Jr., 97, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2019, at the Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Center. He was born on July 20, 1921, to Phillip Linzy and Eva May (Whinery) Myers in Cushing, OK.

He was married to Dorothy Margaret Shuhart on March 5, 1943, in Ft. Worth, TX. They had three children, Phil Leon Myers III (Chip), James Albert Myers, and Mary Margaret Payne (Marki).

Phil raised his family in the Episcopal church. Dorothy passed away after 44 years of marriage. In 1988, Phil married Gladys Evonne Rowe from OKC and two loving families were united.

Gladys passed away after 22 years of marriage. Phil served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Phil received his Bachelor and Master degrees from Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater.

Phil was self-employed in Stillwater until 1966. Between the years of 1966-1987, he taught welding, became a counselor and ended his career as the director at Foster Estes Vo-Tech School in OKC. Phil enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, traveling and golfing with his family and friends.

Phil was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend to all he met. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; wife, Gladys; son, Chip Myers; step-daughter, Jan Maxey and step-son, David Rowe. Those surviving include Susie Myers (wife of Chip), Jim and Cindy Myers, Marki and Jay Payne, Joyce Rowe (wife of David); 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to the Lawton/Ft. Sill Veteran Center’s staff, veterans and caregivers, granddaughter, Alycia and friends, Petra, Penny, AJ, Cindy, and Carrie. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Moore, OK on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 2:00 PM.

, with graveside following at Resthaven Memory Gardens in OKC. Pastor Bill Schneider, Lawton, will be officiating.
