Elzie G. Gowin, 90, of Silver Bay, died Friday April 20, 2018 at his home in Silver Bay. He was born April 16, 1928 to Wesley and Louise (Buck) Gowin in Farimount, North Dakota. Elzie worked at Reserve Mining in Silver Bay for 35 years.

He was known for his woodworking, especially the many rocking horses. Elzie is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Genevia; brother, Dale; and his sons-in-law, Gary and Tom. He is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughters, Zinda, and Mary; son, Chris (Tammie); grandsons, John and Josh; granddaughter, Sara; 8 great grandchildren; and sisters, Merle and Claudia.

The family would like to thank doctors Goueli, Bonin, and Hutchinson, and the staff of St. Mary’s Home Hospice for the excellent care they gave Elzie. Private Services will be held.
