Emily Ann Medlock Emily passed away Tuesday October 23, 2018, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born April 29, 1958 at Georgia Baptist Hospital, and was a lifelong resident of Decatur, Georgia. She attended Towers High School in Decatur, Ga.

and graduated in 1979. She was a student at Georgia Tech for four years and afterwards worked at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital for many years, in Labor and Delivery. During that time she received an Associates Degree from the… Read More » Art Institute of Atlanta in Interior Design.

She designed her mother and father’s home as well as her brother’s house in Cleveland, Ga. She then went back to school for certification as a Pharmacy Technician and worked at CVS pharmacy in Decatur, Ga. until her death.

She had many interests especially animals and gardening. She worked voluntarily as a Docent at Zoo Atlanta. She loved gardening and traveled the world to visit zoos and gardens with her Aunt Eleanor and her dearest friend Bonnie Huleatt.

She was strong, simple, independent, and a fighter. She is survived by her sister, Doctor Susan L. Medlock, and Susan’s Husband Dan Summerhill, niece Cassandra Medlock, and friend Bonnie Huleatt. Also surviving are numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Her parents Ralph M. Medlock , Jr. and Amy A. Medlock , as well as her younger brother Ralph M. Medlock III, have predeceased her. Emily’s life will be honored by a graveside service on Nov 3. 2018, 2PM at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens on Lawrenceville Highway.

NE # 512, Atlanta, Ga. 30328. She will be interred in the same grave as her beloved Aunt Eleanor Medlock Green, who passed in 2009.
