Emma “Jewell” Smith, 99, of Terre Haute, passed away March 1, 2019 at Signature Healthcare. She was born July 5, 1919 in Waynesburg, KY to M.H. Mitchell and Sally Ann Thompson. Jewell loved cooking, especially for her family and loved ones.

She appreciated the outdoors and gardening. She worked beside her husband as a dairy farmer, cared for elderly friends, and babysat for several children. Jewell is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Smith, grandchildren, Rob Smith (MaryAnn) of St. Paul, IN, and Tracie Land(Lafayette, IN), great grandchildren Kelcie Wolboldt(Jeff), Ericka Smith, Claire Smith, Benjamin Land, Derick Land (Tanya), great, great grandchildren Kylie Land, Wesley Land, Aubree Miller, Bailey Land, and Brixten Wolboldt.

Jewell predeceased by both parents, husband(Bob), son(Gail), and ten siblings. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Signature Healthcare for all their love and care given to Jewell. Jeff Lee will officiate services for Jewell, they will be held on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be on the same day between 11 a.m. until service time in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.
