William David “Pete” John, 75, of Terre Haute, passed away February 23, 2019 in his home. He was born July 23, 1943 in Vigo County to Francis Henry John and Elizabeth Irene Layman John. Pete was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

He had retired from working at Midland Glass Company and K-Mart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 104. Pete loved to shop for shoes, watches, and clothes.

When the weather was nice, Pete would hang outside in the yard. He loved his family and his buddies from the YMCA. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Terry John Sr., and a sister, Annie King.

He is survived by his sister Mary Smith and her husband Ronald of Brevard, North Carolina, along with several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Pete will be on Tuesday March 5, 2019 at 1 pm CST. in the Danville National Cemetery, 1900 East Main Street Danville, IL 61832.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm EST. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Online condolences can be made at www.
