Emmabelle Rodriguez , September 19, 1923 — November 19, 2018

Obituary Service Details Emmabelle Rodriguez, nee Cook, age 94, of Troy, IL formerly of Fairmont City, IL, born on September 19, 1923, died on Monday, November 19, 2018 at her residence. She worked in a factory making bullets during World War II followed by jobs at a dress factory, an auto body assembly line, and a galvanized steel plant. For many years she was a self-employed beautician who owned her own salon.

She was a proud member of the Fairmont American Legion Auxiliary Post #961 for 54 years and a longtime member of the Fairmont Baptist Church. Emmabelle is the beloved wife of Joseph for 71 years; cherished mother of Bonnie (Ray) Bean, Linda (Tom) Branz, and Debbie (Steve) Twele; loving grandmother of Tammy (Randy) Wiesemeyer, Sherry (Kevin) Burcham, Dave Branz, Laura (Brian) Branson, Ross (Christina) Twele, Eric Twele, Mark Twele, and Gary Twele; dear great-grandmother of Chelsey (Justin) Christ, Bonnie Burcham, Troy Wiesemeyer, and Lydia Twele; loving great-great-grandmother of Owen Christ; dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Margaret Cook; her two sisters, Lela Washington and Bertha Huevelman; and her two brothers, Orville Cook and Aaron Cook.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Vincent Carril, the staff at Morningside of Troy, Heartland Hospice, neighbors and friends for their help and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairmont Baptist Church, 2733 N. 44th St, Fairmont City, IL 62201. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Belleville, IL with Rev. Mark Howell officiating. Interment will be in Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL Charitable donations may be made to: Fairmont City Baptist Church 2733 N. 44th St., Fairmont City IL 62201 There’s still time to send flowers to the Visitation at the Kassly Mortuary from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on November 24, 2018.
