Eric Gale Moore, February 22, 1960 — March 19, 2019

Eric Gale Moore of Blue Springs, MO passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at the age of 59 from complications associated with ALS. He was surrounded by his daughters and son-in-law as God called him home. Eric was born February 22, 1960 to Glenn and Nita (Silvius) Moore.

He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. Eric was raised in Independence, MO and was a 1978 graduate of William Chrisman High School. Eric was President of his class and participated in swimming, baseball and choir.

Although he had many jobs over the years we could mention, his favorite “job” was being a father to his two beautiful daughters. They were his world and he was theirs. Eric loved to be outdoors.

He enjoyed barbecuing, boating, fishing, playing pool, and most of all riding his motorcycle! Eric is survived by his daughter Shayli Moore of Kansas City, MO; his daughter Keila (Moore) Westfall, son-in-law David Westfall and 5 month old granddaughter Neiva Rose Westfall all of Bonner Springs, KS; his children’s mother, Kelly Moore of Kansas City, MO; his parents Glenn and Nita Moore of Independence, MO; his sister Lisa (Moore) Bush, brother-in-law John Bush of Lawson, MO; nephew Jeremiah Bush and family of Lee’s Summit, MO; niece Tabitha (Bush) Meyer and family of Fairway, KS; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of life is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Shoal Creek Community Church in Pleasant Valley, MO with visitation from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and services will start at 6:30pm.

Pastor Sean Hoeflicker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions to benefit the research for a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) be made to: ALS Association Mid-America Chapter Eric Moore Memorial “Promise Fund” 6950 Squibb Road, Suite 210 Mission, KS 66202 The family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has reached out with words of sympathy and encouragement. The memories shared have lifted our spirits in this difficult time.
