Ernane’s Obituary Ernane G. Gomes, 68, of Merrimack passed away on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 28th, 1951 in Nova Lima, Brazil to the late Teófilo Gomes Rengel and Mariana (Garzon) Gomes. He was raised and educated in Brazil.

Ernane played soccer professionally for Villa Nova A.C. in Brazil and moved to the United States in the early 70’s to continue his playing career with the Boston Astros and Boston Minuteman teams. He worked at Circuit Connect for many years until his retirement in 2003. Along with his parents, he was pre-deceased by two siblings, Derly and Rony.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Karen (Gagnon) Gomes of Merrimack; two sons, Christian Gomes and his fiancé Kelley Dennehy of Nashua, and Evan Gomes and his wife Tiffany; two grandchildren, Conor and Maia Gomes; nine siblings, Any, Marly, Elcy, Maury, Rosaly, Solange, Dezy, and Ivan, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Friday, February 22nd from 3 – 6PM. A service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 6 PM.
