Ervay Lee Peterson, Jr. was born on December 17, 1953, in Garland, Texas. He transitioned to eternity on January 26, 2019, at age 65. A 1972 graduate of Garland High School, Ervay earned a full scholarship to the University of New Mexico.

However, he decided to join the United States Army in which he served as an artillery maintenance foreman. He went on to enjoy a career as a civilian maintenance foreman. Ervay was quite athletic.

He enjoyed football and boxing. In Germany, he was undefeated in boxing. Ervay was preceded in death by his parents, Ervay Peterson, Sr. and Ocie Starling Peterson; and brothers, Dexter Fluellen and Charles Peterson.

Those left to cherish precious memories include Patricia Peterson,Sandra McDuff, Renee Peterson, Trãe Owen Peterson, Adrainne Stewart, Christopher Peterson, Christina Peterson, Sahni Peterson, Isaiah Wren, Ricky Peterson and his wife, Keisha, Peggy Porter and her husband, Melvin, Joyce Crowley and her husband, Clint, Caleb Peterson, Johnnie Mae Cato, and a host of other relatives and friends.
