Etta Mae Grooms Rone May 17, 1941 – January 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Etta Mae Grooms Rone, 77, of Delaplaine, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the NEA Baptist Hospital, in Jonesboro. Etta Mae was born on Saturday, May 17, 1941, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Jessie Lee and Elenora “Lena” Randolph Pigue Grooms. Etta Mae was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend.

She was of the Pentecostal faith. Etta Mae is preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Rone; parents, Jessie Lee and Elenora “Lena” Randolph Pigue Grooms; brothers, Jimmy, Bud, and Charles Grooms; brother-in-law’s, Norman and Eddie Pitcher; and sister-in-law, Alma Grooms. Etta Mae is survived by three sons, Donald Lee (Sharon) Flanery, of Pocahontas, John (Tracy) Flanery, of O’kean, and Rodney (Jennifer) Rone, of Egypt; six daughters, Kathy Flanery, of Knobel, Bonita (Charles) McElhannon, of Lowell, Norma Taylor, of Corning, Karen (Tim) Ungerank, of Rogers, Chrystal (Jimmy) Watts, of Walnut Ridge, and Melissa (Logan) Fitzner, of Pea Ridge; two brothers, Wendy (Katie) Grooms, of Paragould, and J.L. Grooms, of Beech Grove; three sisters, Bonnie Pitcher, of Oak Grove, Shirley (Bill) Jacks, of Paragould, and Donna (Roger) Couch, of Delaplaine; grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Jonathan, Freddie Jo, Travis, Stephen, Melonie, Justin, Blake, Bentley, Noah, John, Jeremy, Joe, Cassie, Eric, Matt, Luke, Sara, Kara, Allison, Kolton, and Sophia Mae; thirty-one great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ruth Grooms, of Oak Grove.

All services will be held in the Delaplaine Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, on Friday, January 25, 2019. Etta Mae’s funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, January 26, 2019; Charles McElhannon and Phillip Keeling, officiating.

Burial will follow in Jones Ridge Cemetery, near Delaplaine. Etta Mae’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.
