Marilyn Jane Barre October 14, 1933 – February 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Marilyn Jane Colley Barre, 85, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Marilyn was born on Saturday, October 14, 1933, in Purman, Missouri, to Landrum and Lorene Merrel Colley. Marilyn was a loving wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend.

On July 31, 1971, Marilyn married the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” L. Barre. They were married for forty-seven years. Marilyn graduated from high school in Doniphan, Missouri.

After high school, Marilyn went on to graduate from cosmetology school. She loved being a hair-dresser so much that she lived the adventure for over fifty years. Marilyn’s hobbies included knitting, baking, yardwork, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family.

Marilyn was a long-time member of the Skaggs Church of Christ, in Pocahontas. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Landrum and Lorene Merrel Colley; brothers, James and Johnny Joe Colley; and grandson, Matthew Young. Marilyn is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Tom Barre, of the home; two sons, Brett (Aljean) Barre, of Current View, Missouri, and Joey Lewis, of Paragould; daughter, Kimberly Lewis Young, of Paragould; twin sister, Carolyn (Joe) Huber, of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole Ann, Thomas, Nathaniel, and Augustus Barre, Greta and Amy Lewis, and Kurt Young; and great grandchildren, Julia, Joseph, and Hannah.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Marilyn’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 1:00 pm; Gerald Fears and Jon Fears, officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery, in Pocahontas. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.
