Obituary for Eugene B. Jarvis Eugene B. Jarvis, “Gene”, of Northville, NY, passed away on June 26, 2018, at Sitrin Nursing home in New Hartford with family by his side. He was born March 1, 1928 to Catherine and Frank Jarvis (Jarkovsky) of Flushing, NY and was 90 years old at passing. O He was raised in Flushing as a loyal Yankee fan, served in the Army during World War II as a dental technician then later graduating from New York University then University of Georgetown Dental School Class of 1955.

He was an oral surgeon in Schenectady and also loved practicing general dentistry in the rural community of Northville, NY where he provided to those with and without means. The small town practice allowed him to spend a great deal of his leisure time on the Great Sacandaga Lake that was his special place. From his home on Sacandaga he pursued boating, fishing and painting sunsets with the same zest as his pursuit of profession and family.

After retirement, Gene and his beloved wife, Ruth, enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and spent many winters in Arizona. One of his great joys was visiting the New England coast and in the warmer months relished annual trips to anywhere from Cape Cod to York, Maine where he continued to paint landscapes and sunsets. Gene was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Luoma) and, sister, Dorothy (Frank) Krupicka.

He is survived by his son, Steve (Christine) Jarvis, of Whitesboro; and two daughters, Tina (Mike) Dewitt of Collegeville, PA and Jeannee Jarvis of Rotterdam with his first wife Claudia Crawford of Amsterdam. Gene has seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes, his remains will be cremated and buried with his wife, Ruth in Harrisville, NH, her home and family site.

A graveside service will be held at a future date. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Northivlle Funeral Home.
