Eugene Herbert Melamed, 81, husband of Edna Melamed, of 521 Long Reach Drive, Salem, SC, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of New Jersey, Mr. Melamed was the son of the late David and Lee Gershon Melamed. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired as an orthodontic tech.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Melamed is survived by his son: Aron Melamed of Anderson, SC; daughters: Sharon Hill of New Jersey and Audrey Rice of New Jersey; brother: Martin Melamed of New Jersey; and two grandchildren: Lee Ann Hill and Eric Hill. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or the Salem Lions Club, PO Box 210, Salem, SC 29676.
