Elua Gray Godwin Norris 83 years young of Chadbourn, passed on at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington on Sunday, September 9, 2018. She was born in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Earl and Myrtie Godwin. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Yolanda Norris Bookmyer.

Eula graduated from Williams Township High School and received an Associate Degree in Business. She was employed at Ithaca Manufacture and later for the Department of Aging. She was a mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend.

She was a member of the Columbus County Memorial VFW Auxiliary 8073. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Dixie Steel Guns N Ammo located at 57 Mercer Road, Chadbourn, NC. The Celebration of Life will be hosted by her children, Randy Norris and wife, Angela of Chadbourn, NC, Bebe Lee and husband, Earl of Sanford, NC, and Kelli Norris Barnes and husband, Earl of Whiteville, NC.

Along with her beloved children she leaves precious memories with her six grandchildren Randall Norris II and wife, Jessica of Bladenboro, NC, Shani Spivey of Whiteville, NC, Wesley Lee of Sanford, NC, Mary Johnson of Sanford, NC, Blake and Garrett Smith of Nakina, NC; six great grandchildren, Chayse Bookmyer of Mansfield, OH, Lennox Todd of Whiteville, NC, Brandon and Brianna Lee of Sanford, NC, Cale and Grant Johnson of Sanford, NC. Also leaving memories with her siblings, Milton Godwin and wife, Barbara of New Bern, NC, Frankie Tracy of Wilmington, NC, and Wilton Godwin of Virgina, along with several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Columbus County Memorial VFW Auxiliary 8073 at 1113 James St. Whiteville, NC 28472 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington at 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401.
